Position Title: Alternative Learning Environment Teacher
Reports To: Campus Principal and ALE Coordinator

Certification: Open to any secondary certification in grades 7-12
Objective of the Alternative Learning Environment Teacher:
An ALE Teacher is responsible for providing classroom instruction directly and indirectly across subject areas and grade levels for students in an alternative learning environment. Position objectives include: goal setting, co-planning, and co-teaching with individual teachers; planning and delivering small group instruction in an alternative setting/traditional setting; and progress monitoring student growth in behavior and academics using evidence-based practices. An ALE Teacher will provide support through the collection, analysis, and interpretation of multiple data sources to directly impact student learning. The ALE Teacher will also be responsible for weekly Professional Learning Team meetings.
Direct Student Services Responsibilities
- Collaborate and reflect with campus teachers, support staff, and other school leaders to positively impact student learning
- Provide direct classroom instruction across subject areas and grade levels for students in an alternative learning environment and in a co-teaching general education setting as appropriate for students served in the program
- Participate in and contribute to a professional learning community focused on identifying essential learning, developing and delivering formative assessments, and planning and implementing a response to data from formative assessments
- Assist in the implementation of behavior and academic RTI processes and procedures.
Case Management Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the development of a system to collect and analyze student data
- Facilitate ongoing collection of and analysis of data to identify student learning goals, develop student success plans, and monitor student progress
- Conduct student observations as a means of developing and monitoring the progress of student success plans
- Support the referral process and progress monitoring for students in the Alternative Learning Environment program
Qualifications and Experience:
- Arkansas-Licensed Educator
- Ability to manage the expectations of both building and district leadership
- An understanding of effective instructional practices
- Evidence of professionalism and leadership skills, including effective communication skills, building trust and rapport with a variety of teachers
- Ability to manage compliance for referral process and intervention tracking
- Ability to utilize technology in the areas of instructional delivery and workflow productivity
